Fre Atlast Bio

Fre Atlast is a Multi-instrumental Performer, Producer, Resident Teaching Artist, Composer, Foley Artist, Community Activist,  and one of the charter members of the Rosendale Theatre Collective. She has resided on the Board of the Rosendale Theatre Collective since its inception, acting first, as treasurer and currently as vice president.  Fre serves as a commissioner on the Town of Rosendale's Recreation Commission since 2013.  She founded the Elders Drum Project in 1998 and has been teaching the Elders method of music making to professionals in the Adult Care Field ever since. In education, she has been Artist in Residence throughout the region, and, in 1999 started an innovative drum program at the Tom Thumb Learning Arts Pre-School in Putnam Valley that she currently continues to develop and refine.  Locally she performs and records with many talented artists including the Rosendale Improvement Association Brass Band and Social Club, Tin Horn Uprising, Gus Mancini &Trancini Percussion Orchestra , Carole White, and the band Madarka. 

Fre will be bringing her solo talents to the Rail Trail Cafe on Sunday August 26th, performing original songs and playing over a dozen different instruments. Primarily known as a drummer, Fre will be featuring her talents on multiple instruments to create a unique soundscape inspired by the natural surroundings of the cafe.
