The Guzmango Saxophone Quartet

The Guzmango Saxophone Quartet is led by tango enthusiast Guzman Blackburn, having been originally formed to play saxophone quartet arrangements of the standard tango repertoire, including such favorites as La Cumparsita and El Choclo, as well as various pieces by one of tango's best known composers, Astor Piazolla. It has since expanded its reach to embrace jazz numbers such as Take Five and Wapango, popular numbers like Stardust, and numerous classical pieces ranging from Albinoni's Adagio, and J. S. Bach's Fugue in G minor to the Philip Glass String Quartet and Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The current members of the quartet itself are equally diverse, including Guzman 'Munc' Blackburn on soprano sax, the husband and wife jazz duo Jessica and Tony Jones on alto and tenor saxophones, and gamelan and eclectic instrumentalist Bill Ylitalo on baritone saxophone.
