Gamelan Kingston is a group of composers and performers exploring the musical possibilities of gamelan (a multi-timbral melodic percussion orchestra from Indonesia) in contemporary and traditional styles. Their diverse backgrounds combine to create new music and well as new collaborative possibilities with both artists and audiences. They present original works by members, many inspired by classical and experimental repertoire from Java and Bali. Members include: Jody Diamond, director, Sasha Bogdanowitsch, Katie Down, Dean Jones, Henry Lowengard, Gavin Ryan and Peter Wetzler
